Academic Search Complete
  Large, interdisciplinary full-text database contains over 8,500 full-text publications, including academic journals, magazines, books, and trade publications. Offers broad subject coverage for a variety of disciplines, including anthropology, area studies, biology, chemistry, ethnic and multicultural studies, food science and technology, general science, geography, law, mathematics, music, pharmaceutical sciences, physics, psychology, religion and theology, women's studies, and many other fields. Cambridge Journals Online
  A collection of over 360 high-quality journals published by Cambridge University Press. The collection is especially strong in the following subject areas: Mathematics, History, Law, Politics and International Relations, Language and Linguistics, Area Studies, Ecology and Conservation, Music, Psychology and Psychiatry, Biology and Biomedical Sciences, Classics, Computer Science, Earth and Atmospheric Science, Economics, Medicine, Philosophy, Religious Studies, and Social Studies. Catalog of U.S. Government Publications (Government Printing Office)
  The Catalog of U.S. Government Publications is the finding tool for electronic and print publications from the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of the U.S. government. The Catalog contains over 500,000 descriptive records for historical and current publications and provides direct links to those that are available online. [July 1976 - present]
Child Welfare Information Gateway - Library Search
  The Child Welfare Information Gateway, a service of the Children's Bureau, Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, maintains an extensive library of materials relating to child welfare, including child abuse prevention, out-of-home care, and adoption. Approximately 200 new items are added each month to its current collection of close to 50,000 items, including peer-reviewed articles, books, evaluation reports, grantee final reports, and program reports. This is a bibliographic database, but many of the items can be found in the Cheng Library's collection or online. [1908 - present]
Chronicle of Higher Education
  The Chronicle of Higher Education is a major news publication covering the college and university sector. The online edition of the Chronicle is published every weekday and features news, advice, and jobs for people in academe. The Chronicle's Web site features the complete contents of the latest print format issue; daily news and advice columns; thousands of current job listings; an archive of previously published content; discussion forums; and career-building tools. Free personal accounts are available to members of the WPUNJ community in addition to the campus-wide subscription access. [1989 - Present]
Columbia International Affairs Online
  Full-text resource containing working papers, policy briefs, books and book chapters, journal articles and abstracts, conference proceedings, case studies, and teaching materials for a wide range of topics in international affairs.
Communication & Mass Media Complete
  Full-text index to articles from over 200 periodical titles in the field of communications and mass media studies, with citations and abstracts for articles from over 100 additional periodicals.

Congressional Quarterly Library (CQ)
  From the opening screen, select the "CQ Researcher," the "CQ Weekly," or the "CQ Voting and Elections Collection." Full-text coverage is available for the Weekly from 1983 to the present and for the Researcher from November 1991 to the present.

Criminal Justice Abstracts (via EBSCO)
  Criminal Justice Abstracts, now provided through EBSCO, contains comprehensive coverage of international journals, books, reports, dissertations and unpublished papers on criminology and related disciplines. Subject areas covered by this database include crime trends, crime prevention and deterrence, juvenile delinquency, juvenile justice, police, courts, punishment and sentencing. Updated quarterly, there are currently over 100,000 citation records in the database. [1968 - Present]

  Online version of Salem Press' three-volume reference encyclopedia contains 465 articles ranging in length from 500 to 3,000 words and covering a wide variety of topics in forensic science, including specific types of investigations, techniques, equipment, evidence, the role of forensic science in the legal system, specific historical subjects, depictions of forensics in the media, and much more.

Archive of over 1,900 major journals in the humanities, social sciences, business, education, area studies, mathematics and statistics, and much more. National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) Working Papers
  The National Bureau of Economic Research is the nation's leading nonprofit economic research organization. Founded in 1920, the NBER is a private, nonpartisan organization dedicated to promoting a greater understanding of how the economy works. The Working Papers collection makes available online several thousand papers produced by NBER researchers from 1973 to the present. The full text of the papers is available in PDF format. NJVID (New Jersey Digital Video Repository)
  NJVID provides access to hundreds of educational streaming video titles that can be viewed online, by members of the William Paterson University community (faculty, staff and students). Videos are available from multiple vendors, and include the entire Intelecom collection of video clips from a variety of disciplines (Sociology, Psychology, Health, etc.). Use your WPUNJ username and password to access these videos.

PAIS International (with PAIS Archive)
  The PAIS International database focuses on the literature of public and social policy, and it contains references to more than 1.7 million journal articles, books, government documents, statistical directories, grey literature, research reports, conference reports, publications of international agencies, microfiche, Internet material, and more. Newspapers and newsletters are not indexed. PAIS International covers publications from over 120 countries. In addition to English, some of the indexed materials are published in French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and other languages. The backfile, which includes the PAIS Archive, extends to 1915. [1915 - Present]
 
PBS VIDEOindex Online
  Web index to over 300 PBS videos in our collection. Select "Search" or "Browse" from the opening screen to use it.
Points of View Reference Center
  Full-text database designed to provide multiple sides of a variety of current issues. The database currently offers materials on 200 topics, and each topic section features an overview along with point and counterpoint essays drawn from a variety of sources, plus supplementary information including primary source documents and guides to critical thinking.

  Full-text access to 24 scholarly journals published by the Johns Hopkins University Press in the humanities and social sciences.
ProQuest Central
  ProQuest Central is a large multidisciplinary database indexing over 14,000 publications, the majority of them available in full text. Over 160 subjects areas are covered extensively in this product including business and economics, health and medical, news and world affairs, technology, social sciences, and more. The publications include over 6,500 scholarly journals, over 3,600 trade publications, over 2,000 magazines and newspapers, and over 800 industry reports, plus dissertations and theses, company annual reports, and videos.
 
ProQuest Digital Microfilm (Barron's, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal)
  ProQuest Digital Microfilm offers high-quality, cover-to-cover page images from Barron's, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal, including all graphics, advertisements and other features from the print editions. Although the database does not support searching of any kind, it can be used in conjunction with other databases that index Barron's, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal so you can obtain the citation information needed to view a specific page image. Our subscription to ProQuest Digital Microfilm currently provides the backfiles of Barron's, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal to January 2008. [2008 - Present]
ProQuest Newsstand
  ProQuest Newsstand offers full-text news from over 1,280 sources, including domestic and foreign newspapers, wire services, magazines, trade publications, and blogs. Over 50 of the highest-circulation newspapers in the United States are included in the database, including such key titles as the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the San Jose Mercury News, the Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, the Houston Chronicle, the Philadelphia Inquirer/Daily News, the Denver Post, and many others.
ProQuest Social Science Journals
  ProQuest Social Science Journals, a subset of the ProQuest Central database, is a collection of over 630 periodicals covering scholarly research in the social sciences. Subjects covered include anthropology, area studies, criminology, cultural and ethnic studies, demography, economics, gender studies, geography, labor and management studies, politics and policy, and urban studies. Full-text content is available for over 400 titles in the collection. [1971 - Present]
 
PsycARTICLES
  PsycARTICLES offers complete access to the full text of more than 80 landmark journals in behavioral science and related fields ranging from education, to nursing, to business, to neuroscience. The database currently contains over 160,000 articles from many of the most important journals in psychology, including 34 journals published by the American Psychological Association. Most titles feature complete content from the current issue back to volume 1, issue 1, with complete coverage of all subject areas relevant to psychological science including basic/experimental psychology, clinical psychology, developmental psychology, education and school psychology, health psychology, industrial/organizational psychology, social psychology and social processes. Articles in PsycARTICLES are also accessible through links in the (larger) PsycINFO database. [1894 - present]

  PsycINFO is the principal abstracting and indexing database covering peer-reviewed literature in the behavioral sciences and mental health. The database currently contains over 3.3 million records for articles from over 2,500 journals, books, and dissertations. Although the major focus of the database is psychology, it also includes information about the psychological aspects of related fields such as medicine, psychiatry, nursing, sociology, education, pharmacology, technology, linguistics, anthropology, business, law, and others. The records in PsycINFO are organized by a rigorous and detailed system of subject classification to support high-precision searching, and links to full-text content are provided where available.   Approximately 1200 full-text journals in the sciences and social sciences, plus indexing and abstracting for over 500 other journals.
Scopus
  Scopus is a comprehensive database providing access to the research literature of the natural and physical sciences and the social sciences. The database currently provides over 45 million citation records and indexes over 18,000 peer-reviewed journals, over 400 trade publications, and over 300 book series. Also included are citations for over 4.6 million conference papers from proceedings and journals, over 24 million patent records from five patent offices, articles in press from over 3,800 journals, and over 350 million scientific web pages indexed through the Scirus search engine. Social Services Abstracts
  The Social Services Abstracts database provides bibliographic coverage of current research focused on social work, human services, and related areas, including social welfare, social policy, and community development, with links to full-text articles where available. The database abstracts and indexes over 1,300 serials publications and includes abstracts of journal articles and dissertations, and citations to book reviews. The database is updated monthly, and it currently contained over 155,00 records. [1979 - Present]
 
Sociological Abstracts
  The Sociological Abstracts database abstracts and indexes the international literature in sociology and related disciplines in the social and behavioral sciences. Pulled from nearly 2,000 serial publications are abstracts from a variety of sources including journal articles, conference papers, books, dissertations, and conference papers, plus citations to important book reviews related to the social sciences. Adding to the scope and breadth of this resource is a backfile that begins in 1952. Many records from key journals in sociology, added to the database since 2002, also include the references cited in the bibliography of the source article. Cited reference linking functionality broadens research and learning by providing related research and contextual material. The database is updated monthly and currently contains over 960,000 records. [1952 - Present]

Theses @ The William Paterson University of New Jersey
  The product of a collaboration between the Cheng Library and the University's Graduate programs, a collection of over 70 digitized master's theses is now available online through the ProQuest search interface. The majority of titles in the collection are from recent Communication Disorders and Music program graduates, but in 2010 the program is expanding to include other programs and the collection will grow as new theses are submitted for digitization.   The Worldwide Political Science Abstracts database provides citations, abstracts, and indexing of the international research literature in political science and its complementary fields, including international relations, law, and public administration and policy. Links are also provided to full-text content where it is available. Since 2000, development of the database has focused on expanding international coverage, and over half the titles now covered in the database are published outside the United States.
